I will not speak to the reliability of my cart, because the newer model
has the same basic body and size, but better upgraded electrical
components, which were a huge problem in the older version. We have
basically had to replace most all of the electrical components to those
which now come standard on the new version, i.e. 350 watt motors vs. 250
watt motors, etc., etc. Fortunately the replacement parts are readily
available on the Internet, but not Amazon so much, and not as expensive
as I would have expected, except for the battery, which alone cost more
than replacing the 2 motors, 2 gearboxes, and 100% all other electrical
components combined at this writing. Fortunately our battery has held
up very well. We replaced the charger with a 24 volt Battery Tender
Charger/Maintainer that we bought on Amazon when the factory charger
quit. I now view the factory charger quitting as fortunate, given the
price of the battery, and the vastly superior replacement charger. I
would highly recommend buying the better charger a soon as possible. You
have to adapt the connector. I cut the wire and plug from the old dead
charger and put a standard charger plug on the cord and it works fine.
Some people instead replace the plugs on the cart and battery with
standard battery charger plugs, but since my factory charger was smoked
anyway, I took the easier route. I took one star off for overall quality
control, which is quite generous, I think, given our actual experience.
But the new components, now standard, are much better, and this is a
unique, one of a kind, best in a class all its own kind of product. The
kids do love to ride it, and it is fun to see them have that much fun!
I didn't plan to write a book, but I hope some of this is helpful. Thanks.
